The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Groundsperson to join our Building and Grounds Department. Reporting to the Property Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring our campuses remain clean, safe, and presentable for our students and staff.
Employment Type: Permanent
Classification: Level 1 School Operational Services Grade 1
Key Responsibilities
- Estate Maintenance: Maintain school grounds, workshops, and vehicles in a tidy state, including leaf/rubbish removal and bin management.
- General Maintenance: Undertake minor maintenance tasks across all school properties.
- Operational Support: Assist with the setup of functions, meetings, and classrooms.
- Safety & Collaboration: Follow safe work practices and assist other members of the Building and Grounds team as required.
About You
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a pressure-sensitive environment. You should possess:
- Demonstrated experience in grounds maintenance and manual labour.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with staff, contractors, and the community.
- A "can-do" attitude and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- A valid Full Driver’s Licence.
Essential Compliance & Certifications
In accordance with state legislation and school policy, the following clearances are mandatory conditions of employment:
- Working With Children Check (WWCC): Valid clearance through the Department of Human Services.
- CPR Certification (HLTAID009): Current certificate from a Registered Training Organisation.
- RRHAN-EC: Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (4-hour Masterclass or 2-hour Fundamentals refresher).
- Protective Practices Certification.
